bobby g Very slow paced movie that didn't have any surprises to the story. From the first 5 minutes I knew could predict how the movie was going and was not wrong wouldn't recommend Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review KingOfCups While the low-budget production can generally be overlooked, most of the acting was simply just bad -- distracting even. Expected a typical 'underdog story' about a small town kid from the 1920s South with big dreams to play baseball. Nothing wrong with a faith-based film, but that subplot felt forced and only existed to help Will 'solve' his 'temptations' being around ballplayers who drink whiskey during prohibition. This heavy-handed propaganda got especially eyeroll when Will somehow becomes amazing as his faith grows, and the previous 'best player' gets worse because he drinks whiskey. Feel like this had a great setup, but fell apart as the production seemed to be more focused on pushing the 'miracle of faith' storyline over developing a more realistic plot that engages the viewer through the end.
