An unpleasant movie. While the characters are distinct, charismatic and talented enough, and while the story is told well and with real passion, I just cannot force myself to like this film. It's just so damn revulsive. Why, you may ask? Because there's nothing positive, educational or cautionary about it! Well, okay, perhaps it's a little cautionary, but only because it's so revulsive and somehow I got the feeling that it wasn't supposed to be. The whole story is told as if the young drug dealer punk should be sympathized with and that's just wrong. Because while his story is sad and while bad things happen to him, we are never shown that he feels sorry for doing it. Actually, I think that the only thing he regrets is getting caught. It's like watching Fight Club, only with sane and thus morally responsible character. And even Fight Club actually had the underlying tone about violence not being the answer. But in this, drug-dealing seems to be the fucking answer. Is that really what we want to teach our kids?

An Estonian crime drama about a priviledged youth who is seduced by the tempatation of easy money and gets involved with organized crime. This film really tries hard to be modern, edgy and smart, but it feels mostly like a lot of effort that doesn't result in the work that has been tried to create. Not horrible or anything, but soulless and a bit aimless as well.

Ypac antroji filmo dalis.
