Audience Member Well, how to say. On the very first hand, it is quite "cute" & imaginative by making a contemporary story like a surreal swordsmen movie starring with chic-clothed actors- very oddly awkward though. Underneath its over-flaunting shooting & editing visual effects, suddenly in & out sounding & all other slick package, it's all dragging, hollowness & tons of meaningless plot & script lines remain. Not a successful experimental piece at all. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This should really be called Nana (instead of Ming Ming) because that's the name of one of the two characters Zhou Xun plays; the one who has the orange hair, quite a bit more screen time, and a better story line if we can separate them. This is NOT a martial arts film unless you consider flinging marbles and flicking matches at people martial arts. I thought it was silly. Director Susie Au obviously comes from a music video background. I found the random quick and quirky edits tiring, although they did set up the actors with wonderfully posed portraits throughout. Daniel Wu has an awesome hairdo if you go for that kind of thing. Zhou Xun's Cantonese is quite fetching and ordinarily I could watch her all day long. It's too bad that the director's heavy-handed style gets in the way of enjoying this film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member The majority of the plot should be set in ancient times, not in a contemporary society. The acting skills from each individual have nothing to be picked about, however, it's the movie itself should be damned to hell. And since when low level gangsters started wearing uniforms of bomber jackets?? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A truly irresistable film, beautiful characters and interesting story. Daniel Wu plays D, handsome, sexy and alluring to women, he's a lover and fighter. Ming ming falls for D and gets 5 million and a mysterious box from gangster Cat to run away with D... Things take an unexpect turn when Ming sees and runs into Nana her look alike and lets Nana be the scapegoat to her crime. The only irritable thing in and of this film is the dramatic pauses throughout and the reversing of some scenes... you'll have to see this to understand. The overuse of pausing is a pain in the ass. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the way this movie was shot, lots of effects and slow-mo bits really added to the story (which was okay but I kind of wondered where the hell it was going at times). In all, it's a decent movie but it could have been much more concise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member i think it's interesting wor...
