Wendy Ide Observer (UK) It's so hilariously inept that it's almost worth watching. Rated: 1/5 Jun 5, 2016 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) It's with strange awe that you realise, halfway through the legal thriller Misconduct, that it may actually be the worst film either Anthony Hopkins or Al Pacino have ever starred in. Rated: 1/5 Jun 2, 2016 Full Review Benjamin Lee Guardian It shamelessly cribs from 90s potboilers (a last-minute twist is stolen from a notable film of the decade) and Pacino is hammier than a hog roast, but it's too lurid to be dull. Rated: 2/5 Jun 2, 2016 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review This kind of yarn would have inspired a major audience draw a couple decades ago, but now the whole thing feels tired and derivative. Rated: 1/4 Apr 22, 2022 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews An astonishingly atrocious piece of work... Rated: 1/4 May 4, 2018 Full Review Matt Glasby Total Film The result is pacy, patchy and, at the last, plain old slapdash: if anyone can work out what the eventual villain did -- or why -- please let us know. Claudio C Misconduct (2016) Who Killed Emily Hynes? (11,703 –19 May 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) The ambitious lawyer Ben Cahill (Josh Duhamel) is married to the nurse Charlotte “Charlie” Cahill (Alice Eve) and they live in New Jersey. Both are workaholics and do not have much time to spend with each other. When his former girlfriend Emily Hynes (Malin Akerman) contacts him through the Internet, they meet each other in a bar. Ben learns that she is presently the girlfriend of the owner of Pierson Pharmaceutics, billionaire Arthur Denning (Anthony Hopkins), and she stole information from his laptop. Denning is facing accusations of killing several people in the experiments of his company, and Ben sees the chance to a lawsuit with the information, When Emily is abducted, Denning receives photos of her bruised face and the request of a 2.5 million-dollar-ransom. His head security Jane Clemente (Julia Stiles) and Joe Bilson (Marcus Lyle Brown) are assigned to investigate the abduction. Meanwhile Ben convinces his boss Charles Abrams (Al Pacino) to move a lawsuit against Denning using the illegal information he copied from his laptop. But soon he finds Emily dead at home in her apartment. Then her next-door neighbor Amy (Leah McKendrick) is interned almost dead after being beaten on the streets. Ben believes Rose and him are in danger. But who is the killer? “Misconduct” (2016) is a complex neo-noir thriller with a screenplay that misleads the viewer. Most of the characters are no good. Ben Cahill is an ambitious and unethical lawyer capable of using illegal methods to win the cases. His wife Charlie almost kills Amy to protect her husband and is the femme fatale in the end. Arthur Denning is a rotten tycoon as well as Charles Abrams. The cast is excellent, with Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Alice Eve, Malin Akerman, Julia Stiles and Josh Duhamel, among others. Unfortunately, this film received bad reviews from the “professional critics”, and certainly influenced the opinion of several viewers. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): “Má Conduta” (“Misconduct”) My Blog: https://maniacosporfilme.wordpress.com/ Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Mark S Just no. Could have been decent but the movies all over the place. Add to that the worst acting I've seen in decades from Alice Eve ... Seems like she was stoned the whole movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review Jelisije J You ever watch a film with an interesting premise, but the directors and writers like to add unnecessary scenes and characters that take away from what the original movie was really about......well i found the film for you just in case you never saw a Frankenstein monster movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/05/25 Full Review Jessica P Oof. This movie was a mess. Total mess. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review Cheril H Well I guess I’m alone in the fact that I really liked this movie…I thought it had good thrills to it and I didn’t care about it making sense. But I’m not a movie critic….i enjoyed it even watched it twice.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review Frank A Why did two great actors ever agree to be in such a stupid movie?
