I've had this laying around since it was released but never got to see it until now. Great reviwes all over the net and war films rearly dissapoint. I never gave it as much attention as it maybe deserved, but it's a reason for it. Hallmark TV films are not the best of stuff. The story is based on true events as the super kind Irena smuggles kids out from the ghettos trying to make sure they got a chance of a better life. It's not a poor film, the plot is a hidden war story, both great and sad. The execution is not all that. 5.5 out of 10 closets.

This is a well-told story of real events, and is both gripping and painful to watch. As it should be. I discovered it by chance on the Drama channel, and I'm glad that i watched it. Interesting to see Michelle Dockery being someone other than Lady Mary of Downton, too.

Amazing film about an amazing women who risked her life in order to save Jewish children of the holocaust. Watching a story like this makes you wonder, what you would do in her situation would you have the courage to act? Anna Paquin gives a great performance as Irena.
