Critics Consensus

Riding high on a wave of stunning animation even when its story runs adrift, Moana 2 isn't as inspired as the original but still delights as a colorful adventure.

Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It's great fun for girls and boys, and the animation is really sweeping. Dec 12, 2024 Full Review Andrea Thompson Chicago Reader Much like the hermit crab who kicks things off by attempting to trade in his new shell for an ill-fitting larger one, there’s simply not enough to fill out Moana 2. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2/5 Dec 19, 2024 Full Review Brooke Obie Black Girl Watching I love when kids’ movies subtly address colonization and teach children that ancestors never leave us and want to help us. And the music slaps! Dec 19, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
