Audience Member When asked about her life challenges Helen Keller quipped, " The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." Executive Producer Roma Downey exhibited a Kelleresque vision with this 1998 inspirational TV movie that explored a different side of the Annie Sullivan, Helen Keller relationship. Helen's burgeoning womanhood forms the background of conflict as her scholastic mentor, Sullivan, progresses to a carnal challenge as both women vie for the affections of John Macy, a writer and business associate. Both Moira Kelly and Roma Downey take the inspirational drama to another level not often explored, that of issues of sexuality and intimacy. It will be interesting to see if Downey can shed her halo from her days as Monica on "Touched By An Angel" and move beyond the limits of the CBS sensor to mature dramas with her Lightworkers Media Production company. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Roma Downey is my favorite actress and this film sizzles and is heart wrenching. To me, it's a beautiful classic.
