Vanessa Redgrave has never been more likable on screen than in her buoyantly athletic turn here. Go to Full Review

A Month by the Lake is a sly romantic comedy about a collision of sex, ego, will and pride, all peeping out from beneath great thick layers of British reticence. Go to Full Review

The settings are undeniably stunning—you can't go wrong with Lake Como—but the A-List cast promises more than the screenplay and directing can deliver here. Go to Full Review

jon c 09/22/2020 Anything can happen at a vacation getaway whether romantic or drama filled It's 1937 in Italy right before World War II and the Lake Como resort has just reopened The owner has passed away and his daughter Miss Bentley has come back to heal from her recent loss She falls for a man named Major Wilshaw A new debutante named Miss Beaumont arrives and age starts to shake things up Vittorio Balsari then shows up showing an interest in Miss Bentley' even though she has a thing for Wilshaw A very classy cast from Vanessa Redgrave to Uma Thurman to Edward Fox to Alessandro Gassman The scenery is breathtaking in Italy. Classy actors and it reminds me of those old romance movies of the 40's and 50's. See more steve d 07/08/2020 Romantic comedy with little of both. Vanessa Redgrave and Uma Thurman give excellent performances. The screenplay is pretty good but a little slow in places. John Irvin did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. A Month by the Lake is a must see.
