Audience Member A moving tale of deafness in a hearing world, a boys journey in to understanding his 2 worlds- hearing and non and a man's journey in to the beginning of his mental decline. So moving. So well edited, I felt the Love, joy, and heartache as this family moves forward. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is another personal family documentary from Taylor Brodsky. It's beautifully constructed. Lovely to see and hear. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I was incredibly moved by this film. I suppose having a hearing impaired partner and being an amateur classical pianist have something to do with that. I thought it was very artfully edited. The stories of Jonas' and his grandparents' deafness were brilliantly intermingled. Fantastic reflections on what being deaf can mean, along with the magical attraction some of us have to certain pieces that call us like sirens, despite the challenge. And the impact of family life. On and on. Powerful film on so many levels. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member another beautiful documentary by Oscar nominated director Irene Taylor Brodsky! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member We saw this at Sundance 2019 and loved it. It is a deeply moving portrait of the director's son, from birth to adolescence, and her parents, and the challenges they face. She also looks at how the rest of the family helps them face these challenges. Everyone should see this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
