Synopsis
This documentary focuses on the filmmaker's mother, Alice Gimes, a Hungarian woman who fled to Switzerland after the Soviets invaded to crush the revolt in 1956. Although she and her husband, Miklós, an influential journalist, were both members of the Communist Party, Miklos initiated a reform movement that resulted in his execution by the Communist regime. This account of Alice's life includes an abundance of archival footage, illuminating the story of love disrupted by the forces of history.
