Allison Shoemaker Consequence Movement and Location is as smart a piece of sci-fi as one could hope to see. Rated: B Dec 8, 2015 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Movement and Location has some clear-cut parallels to the stories of immigrants who are in the States illegally and are trying to live quiet, productive lives... But it also works as a Rod Serling-esque sci-fi adventure of the mind. Rated: 3.5/4 Dec 3, 2015 Full Review Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader Lacking flashy CGI (or any other special effects), this imaginative low-budget indie (2014) relies heavily on dystopian gloom. Dec 3, 2015 Full Review Ray Pride Newcity Dear heavens, there's such microbudget goodness in Movement + Location, a slice of lowercase, sotto voce Brooklyn-set sci-fi written, produced, starred-in and edited by Bodine Boling, directed and shot by Alexis Boling. Jenny U Dreadful. Very slow and tried hard to be meaningful. If you decide to watch, recommend you fast forward, 30 sec at a time. You'll still be able to follow the plot as it takes so long for something to actually happen. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review tvkid9879 I hate movies where you are given no ending, and you cant even use your imagination to picture one. On top of that the main character (Kim) is unlikable. I am giving this 2 stars as the only decent part was the teenager who played her role well. Skip this movie, I spent 1hr and 30min+ watching it so you don't have to. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/24/23 Full Review Deborah S Slow, scattered, with no actual end. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I read one critic's review that said 'Movement + Location' is 'as smart a piece of sci-fi as one could hope to see?! It's not even close. She put it w/ the likes of 2001, Westworld, Clarke, Dick, Delany? It's dry, monotonous, boring, and avg. smart at best. She REALLY needs to read and watch some good sci-fi. The acting was good. But the story nearly put me to sleep. It's so meandering, nothing is explained about the future or why to leave it, or any real purpose for the movie. This isn't even sci-fi really, it just has people from the future. That's not enough to call it sci-fi. I also a number of scenes almost ridiculous. I just didn't buy people reacting like that or saying those comments. Hard pass- 2 stars Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Another surprise from obscurity, solid and a star is born. This is why I see everything! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Its a story about the difficulty and importance of connecting with love. Flung backwards in time, across 400 years how to love those flung with you and those who you find there. Doesn't it seem that we all time travel everyday -- that movie helps you see that. And makes you feel a little more careful and appreciative of the day to day relationships we tend to take for granted. A very smart and often very funny film.
