Peter Galvin sbs.com.au Mt. Zion, a likeable drama from writer director Tearepa Kahi, cleaves closely to this ancient coming-of-age parable about how the quest for showbiz success can corrupt the innocent. Audience Member 5 Because its Maori hard Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Mt. Zion is a realistic yet feel good movie that captures the mood and the music of the time. This trip is worth taking to revisit the music of the day and to experience the reminder of the earthy goodness rooted in the love of this land that is such a part of our indigenous people. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad but a bit predictable. I was disappointed with the singing and music which isn't true to the era. Also, much of the language is too contemporary. I couldn't really get into it. The acting is good, as are the production values. Some shots and pans are unnecessary. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review ma'ark t Interesting insight to rural Auckland in the late 1970's but the music was the only highlight of this film for me.
