Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 19, 2004 Full Review Wesley Morris Boston Globe Elvira, Sol, and Jimena -- named for women in the life of El Cid -- are so spoiled and blind to their mother's happiness that they're often thoroughly unpleasant. Rated: 2/4 Sep 3, 2004 Full Review San Francisco Chronicle A sometimes cloying mix of screwball comedy and drama. Rated: 2/4 Aug 13, 2004 Full Review Rob Thomas Capital Times (Madison, WI) It's a warm, sunny film that should remind viewers favorably of an early Aldomovar film, in which strong, beautiful, but slightly nutty women carry the day. Rated: 3/4 Oct 29, 2004 Full Review Jon Popick Planet S Magazine Sounds like a bad Almodvarian television sitcom pilot. Oct 19, 2004 Full Review James Wegg JWR ... it's nice to know that Hollywood endings aren't entirely in the straight domain. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 10, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I'm surprised that this didn't receive more appreciation from the users. Here we have an elderly mom who has fallen in love with a woman rather than another man...and boy do her daughters react. I thought it was fascinating to see the diverse reactions and the actors clearly having fun exploring their characters. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member L'actrice qui joue Elvira est exceptionnelle ^^. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member a merry lil carnival, very 'popcorn fluff'. the bad dubbing and subs that didn't sync really took a lotta viewing pleasure outta this fun, lite-hearted flick. there were some hilarious moments but this was one of 'em no-great-loss-if-you-miss-it types. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member muy buena! mejor de lo que pensaba, demás muy divertida! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Guardatevi sto film perchè è geniale! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member This wasn't what I expected, but is a touching story of a family and others coming to terms with what some feel is a difficult situation.
