Rudie Obias Battleship Pretension Hung’s camerawork and editing is sharp and exciting, while Chan’s glowing on-screen persona is bright and charismatic — even though he’s only bookended in the film. Dec 2, 2023 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Twinkle Twinkle, Lucky Stars" is quite funny, includes more than impressive action pieces, and also functions as an encyclopedia of the actors who appeared on HK action productions at the time Apr 11, 2021 Full Review Nathanael Hood Unseen Films It's 15% amazing action, 85% nauseating sex comedy. Kaia W Not my fav Jackie Chan movie, but I do like it! The fight scenes were good but you didn't see THAT much jackie chan until near the ending but it was good!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/23 Full Review knut b Not that good and not that bad either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review freeson w Funny! Classic kind of kung-fu comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I was happy to finally cross an early Jackie Chan film off my list of shame, and this one features some amazing action bits, all directed by Sammo Hung. Well worth a rental. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Decidedly not a 'Jackie Chan film' but instead a Sammo Hung film with essentially a guest-starring role for Jackie. And in truth his fights aren't that great, certainly not of the jaw-dropping nature we are used to seeing, only an interestingly staged fight in a funhouse stands out as truly memorable. Third brother from the Peking Opera Yuen Biao has even less screen time. The action takes place mostly during the opening and closing 15 minutes, the rest of the movie has Sammo and his other cronies engaging in comedy set-pieces. Some are funny like Richard Ng believing he has the ability to control other people's thoughts, while others are more stupid than funny like a far-too-long parade of phony burglars so the guys can each get tied up to the lady detective. Yes, very infantile humor abounds so your tolerance will dictate how you find My Lucky Stars. It's one of the few Jackie movies I had yet to see, and its placement in the order of necessity is exactly where I would have scheduled it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Alright Chan/Hung picture with lots of other talent. They've had better, but honestly this was when they were in their prime and could do no wrong! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
