Exploiting his access to nearby satellite-dwellers Mike Nelson (Michael J. Nelson) and his robot pals, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo (Kevin Murphy), Forrester makes them watch a cheesy 1950s spaceship film. Critics Consensus

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie may be thin and uneven, but it's hilarious in enough of the right spots to do the show's big-screen transition justice.

Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune For many, a little of this joking will go a long way; devoted fans, however, will wish for a double-bill. Count me closer to the latter group. Rated: 3/4 Sep 2, 2014 Full Review Dave Kehr New York Daily News There are still enough bad makeup jobs, pretentious lines, and coy sexual situations to give the chattering puppets plenty of fodder. Rated: 3/4 Sep 2, 2014 Full Review Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer If you're in the mood for some knuckleheaded comedy at the expense of -- in mad scientist Dr. Forrester's words -- "a stinky cinematic suppository called This Island Earth," then get thee to some place playing MST3K. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Steve D No more than another episode, but that isn't a bad thing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review max a A weird movie to say the least, it feels like three guys making a live reaction of a movie in YouTube, and I'm not even trying to exaggerate here. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review daniel w A timeless classic to enjoy with Friends & Family over and over again, absolutely hilarious! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review justin t Looks so much better than the TV series! This is the film treatment showing its best compared to low-budget TV. Sounds much better too. Love the revamp. It takes the TV format and translates it to the feature format really well. Although this is actually shorter than any episode on TV. An entertaining little diversion that builds upon the series and is the perfect pacing for big-screen concentration. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
