Ignacio (Jack Black), or Nacho to his friends, works as a cook in the Mexican monastery where he grew up. The monastery is home to a host of orphans whom Nacho cares for deeply, but there is not much money to feed them properly. Nacho decides to raise money for the children by moonlighting as a Lucha Libre wrestler with his partner Esqueleto (Héctor Jiménez), but since the church forbids Lucha, Nacho must disguise his identity.

Critics Consensus

At times hilarious, but other times offensive, Director Jared Hess is unable to recapture the collective charisma of his Napoleon characters, instead relying on a one-joke concept that runs out of steam. Sure to entertain the adolescents, however.

This is purely born out of childhood nostalgia and quoting this movie with my family for years. It's just family fun. Let's be real this movie could not have been made today, so I appreciate that we even got it in the first place.

One of the best movies despite the ratings. When I was young it was about the comedy, but then I realized this movie is special. Now I see the layers of craft that went into it. I love the story. It’s good for the soul.

THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD! I don't understand those who watched this film and gave it low ratings. While watching this film, I experienced the full spectrum of emotions: from cringing to admiration. The fight scenes are top-notch, especially the final fight, when Nacho beats up the main wrestler like he's a disabled child.

This movie was soooo lame. LAME! I didn't even laugh when I saw it in the theater. Nobody was laughing. it got a 33% score with critics. THEN, EXPLAIN TO ME WHY I KEEP COMING BACK TO THIS MOVIE FOR THE 20TH TIME!?? and I'm just about to warch it again, and laugh hysterically at this dumb movie 😂😂🤣🤣 this movie deserves a sequel!! I NEED A SEQUEL !
