      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Naked Singularity has wild ambition and a talented lead on its side, but neither ingredient is enough to offset the film's clumsy jumble of tones and ideas.

Michael Could have done without the whole great reset concept. It distracted from the flow of the movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/15/21 Full Review Gorptholemew T 🍀 1.4/10 Bland, uninteresting, not even my baby bill can save this ADHD generator. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/23 Full Review Ed M Loved the cast but the movie itself was just ok. I wish they had spent more time on the sci fi aspect of the movie and explored that a little more. Decent movie and good watch but lacked anything worth remembering. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member It is quite a quirky story, with acceptable acting all around. The movie is neither really good nor bad, just an oddball of characters who seem to have no real connection to each other to eventually fall in in line. It's not a complete waste of time, but if you miss out on this one your life will surely continue without any damage, just as well. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Great and eclectic cast - talented performances - creative plot - witty repartee! Good watch 👀 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kevin Maher Times (UK) The wait continues for a new movie worthy of the talents of John Boyega. Rated: 2/5 Jan 2, 2022 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian Not even an impending apocalypse adds much in the way of urgency. Still, Boyega is very credible and at 29 he's beginning to look like a leading man with real gravitational pull. Likely he'll file this on his CV under misfire. Rated: 2/5 Dec 31, 2021 Full Review Leslie Felperin Financial Times Chase Palmer, the film's director and co-writer (with David Matthews), hacks away at this thick forest of high concepts and plot detail, but it all just keeps growing back, making for a tangled mess that's as irritating as a stroll through a nettle patch. Rated: 2/5 Dec 31, 2021 Full Review Rick Bentley KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA) All the quirks of the courts are on full display here. Combine that with Boyega’s performance and the result is a hit. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 10, 2023 Full Review Ema Sasic Next Best Picture Things feel too rushed throughout the film, and events get wrapped up too easily by the end. Rated: 5/10 Jun 21, 2022 Full Review Joe Friar Fort Worth Report De La Pava's surreal novel is lost in transition as the film version settles for an average heist caper. The solid cast makes it very watchable. Rated: 2/4 Oct 7, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
