Audience Member A swedish film which is really a collection of three unconnected stories. Each of the tales are put together well and are quite hard hitting but the lack of cohesion between the dramas does weaken the picture as a whole. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite some shaky acting and slightly forced plot outcomes, this is pretty powerful stuff; however, it never really reaches above TV drama. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Heavy, scary, unexpected, different! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member When Darkness Falls (2006), a Swedish thriller based on gender issues including honour killings, battered wives and gay issues, a multifaceted movie, taking a view across three cultures to emphasize the changing world and relationships in a Swedish setting. Acting is superb as well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This Swedish drama boldly takes on the delicate subject of honor murders committed inside immigrant families. Itâ(TM)s the story of two sisters who are torn between a liberal Swedish lifestyle and their conservative Christian upbringing. The story moves forward swiftly, keeping the focus very close to the characters. âWhen Darkness Falls❠works as a shocking, effective story and handles its subject matter smartly, avoiding sensationalism and any sense of exploitation. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie just took me by the throat! It never released me out of its grip. It must have been one of the best Swedish drama's I have watched in the past years. The anger it caused inside me is unbelievable, the frustration is endless. The end came a bit as a relief. This move is definitely a must-see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
