Clement Tyler Obropta Film Inquiry Narvik is a thrilling, crowd-pleasing war picture. It deserves all the love that All Quiet on the Western Front has gotten and then some. Feb 14, 2023 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media It depicts the heroism of the proverbial "ragtag" soldiers fighting back against seemingly impossible odds, but it's more than firefights and bombings. Rated: 4/5 Feb 1, 2023 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti Otroscines.com ... With old-school war melodrama strokes, Narvik executes its functional war sequences with precision, without frills, and weaves small intrigues that stem out of power politics. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Jan 27, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider A perfectly serviceable wartime drama, nothing more, nothing less. Jan 25, 2023 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut Erik Skjoldbjærg’s Narvik is a stunning-looking war film that’s naturally gripping and does an above-average job playing up the moral dilemmas despite, at times, being frustratingly inert. Julian P Difficult to fault. There should be so many more ww2 movies from the perspective of other countries. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Arbab Not that much of a work as other masterpieces Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review John H Very good WWII movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Steve L Great movie and I don't even speak Dutch. Yes the sub titles were on but after a certain point I didn't need them I was so.into the movie the movie took over. It doesn't help I'm a big history buff Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Ian W It's an good film, but not a great one. No idea why it gets 100% from critics (what do they know :-). An interesting take on 'collusion' whilst also aiding the allied effort. Not sure the lead lady looked that much of a femme fatale. Worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/24 Full Review Avindu G Narvik doesn't bring out the bloodlust of the Nazi expansionism in the usual terror inducing manner. Instead the story describes how human lives were overlooked by both sides and the real terror of the lives captured between war. The fear, darkness and uncertainty is signalled very well by the use of visuals and colour. Unrest brought by unavoidable war to the simple lives of non waring nations told well with perspective of Tofte family. Narvik's boldness in bringing up the questionable strategies of saviors is admirable. Great performances by the cast. Hissing of bullets and bombarding doesn't effect the emotional side of this great story of a dark forgotten time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
