Courtney Small Cinema Axis The comedic beats, as ridiculous as they may be at times, are so entertaining that they add an extra layer of charm to the central romance at play. Rated: B- Feb 16, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member For some reasons, Sammy really fit these roles in this light romantic comedy. Of cause, Andy Lau is really good in most roles that he plays. Highly recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Didnt understand the climax part, otherwise the first movie that started andy and sammi dominance of romantic comdies on the big screen Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a good pair very funny and moving. A very cute romace that even guys will love and laugh at. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic feel good romance movie from Hong Kong. Sammi Cheung and Andy Lau are perfect together, with great chemistry and character development. It never becomes too cheesy, and it entertains with many subplots. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Having previously dabbled a bit in the genre, Needing You is something of a romcom-milestone for director Johnnie To considering it's ambitious production qualities and broad appeal. It also serves as a major breakthrough vehicle for Sammi Cheng in a superb performance that, even though she's pretty far from her more recent annoyingly whiny self, would firmly place her in typecast-hell. Needing You is of course head and shoulders above it's competition, because To handles it's breezy and light subject matter just like he would any drama or gangster movie, with emphasis on creating believable characters and making the audience care for them. A few less self-indulgent A Moment Of Romance references and this loveable To/Wai-joint would have fared even better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member The best of it's kind and spawned so many imitations. Not so much the original, but definitely the best Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
