milagros b Very good. Poignant moments captured in home movies. Well curated production of an incredibly bonding of two deep thinkers under horrendous circumstances and survival with their senses and bodies intact. Quite a tour d force Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review Susan T Magnificent and mesmerizing story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Kefi M Magnifique. J'ai pleuré. Beautiful and necessary story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/23 Full Review robin m I'm baffled about how any filmmaker could ruin such an amazing story. This film did not pay the respect that these women deserved. Too much emphasis on the process of the granddaughter and filmmaker, with absolutely no logical sequencing or any added history of lgbtq life before WWII, life for Chinese persons in Europe in the 40's, or the further details of the heroic actions of Nelly. Great content ruined. Better to have just read entire diary without deluding the content. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Jo A Deeply moving. But so many unanswered questions! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Sarah S Nelly & Nadine's evocative love story is finally and rightfully told - in their own hauntingly beautiful words and images - with the assistance of others, including family, friends and skilful, empathetic filmmakers. I so felt their love... it filled my heart up with so many emotions... Tears of sadness for what they endured in Ravensbrück and Mauthausen Concentration Camps; for what they missed during the years of forced separation... The deepest respect for their unending courage and all they conquered; and Joy and relief that their unbreakable bond and devotion to one another was lifelong... Magnifique!
