This goes over the whole history of the cult classic, including the production and the stars. The film's popularity lies in the fact it's really about the fans of fantasy culture. Sigourney Weaver, Woo Hoo! Go to Full Review

The documentary gets into one of the things I loved about the movie -- the "can-do" spirit of the film's crew who refuse to give up despite numerous challenges. Go to Full Review

Mark H 07/13/2024 If "Galaxy Quest" is a tribute to the fans of Star Trek, then "Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary" is a tribute to the fans of "Galaxy Quest". The documentary covers the history of the production of the movie, the "philosophy" behind the movie, and the warm feelings of the actors towards the crew and movie. Brint Spiner and Wil Wheaton from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" provide additional insights. The bottom line is that if you love "Galaxy Quest", then this documentary will make you feel great! See more charming m 01/30/2023 There are TWO types of film-viewers who inhabit this world: Those who have seen Galaxy Quest, and those who are yet to see.... Actually scrub that! There are The above two, PLUS those who dislike Science-fiction or who have no sense of humour. If you are of the correct persuasion, you will enjoy NEVER SURRENDER which attempts to get to the bottom of the nature of fandom, and why Galaxy Quest was an essential final plinth in the pantheon of film fandom. Luckily some of the gems from the film interrupt the talking heads - both technical and actors, thank god! - but maybe the stars are the superfans and cosplayers who keep the legacy alive! All of the actors still alive feature, this documentary really misses the stellar contribution of Alan Rickman who had catapulted the film from geekdom to true cult status. See more 01/31/2022 Surface-level loving reminiscence about the making of the film and its impact on its creators, fans, & the industry in general 20 years later adds yet another layer to its own inherent meta-ness. #nitrosMovieChallenge See more 12/08/2021 Loved the movie and the documentary ! See more 12/31/2020 A love letter to a love letter. Very cool. See more 07/01/2020 Much like Galaxy Quest itself, this is a loving celebration of pure fandom, and how the things we love become the things we love…and most of it is often an accident. Everyone is in it (except Rickman, sadly), all telling great behind-the-scenes stories. It's a wonderful companion piece for Galaxy Quest; I immediately wanted to re-watch GQ for the umpteenth time, but unlike lesser film-retrospectives, I didn't wish I was watching it INSTEAD of the doc.
