Peter Bradshaw Guardian There is something extravagant and irresistible about the idea of an old-fashioned cultural evening of musical and spoken-word performance. Rated: 3/5 Mar 22, 2022 Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald Murray is sparing with clues, so you have to wait for the end credits for details of what you’ve been hearing. But the casual grace with which he carries the whole thing off disarms any urge to complain. Despite his singing voice, it’s a charmer. Rated: 4/5 Mar 10, 2022 Full Review Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I absolutely adore this film. Jan 29, 2022 Full Review Caroline Tsai The Playlist "New Worlds" is an undeniable reminder of live music's irreplaceable magic-and an entreaty not to forget it. Rated: B Jul 20, 2021 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV The performance, anchored by Murray's limitless charm, takes into its weep a wide variety of elements - Bach and Whitman at one end, Van Morrison and West Side Story at the other. Raymond F The music is beautiful and diverse. Bill Murry's performance completes the arc of a singing career that I first witnessed on Saturday Night Live where Murray was going for laughs. 45 years later Bill is still as entertaining but not going for laughs and despite his singing voice which is Dylanesque the lyrics seem to become more obvious. His reading of the text is terrific. If you're a fan of music and Murry you will like this.
