Mark Bell Film Threat Sure, there's nothing new to the rebellion and acting out that comes with puberty and growing older, but by framing it within the scope of this particular familial structure, it allows the film to be more than just your typical coming-of-age drama. Rated: 3/5 Sep 2, 2014 Full Review Ryan Lattanzio Thompson on Hollywood Where Night Has Settled succeeds best is in the language, the left-unsaids and what-might-have-beens between characters, and in the disquieting textures of a too-close mother/son relationship. Audience Member Sometimes the most enjoyable movies come from the random watching. I truly loved this movie. The story was a very typical coming of age tale but with the background of NYC kid in the early 80's dealing with the inevitable loss of his nanny. Explained in the movie Oliver is much more closer to his Spanish live in nanny than his own mother. I felt the relationship between all characters was perfectly executed thanks to the acting by the main cast. Following this kid as he makes his way though hormone filled rebellionious attitude of 13. My 13 was nothing like his tho the actions are different the emotions remain the same. Great Direction and cinematography. Has rewatch value IMO. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty good coming of age movie. Some scenes are great, others not so much. But it's worth checking out. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm pretty sure all the good reviews this film has were written by the directors relatives. I would give it 0 stars if I could. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in 2015, actually I'm completely sure is the worst movie I have seen in my entire life. Characters were not likable, not even believable, relationships didn't felt real, weak storyline. I mean, why would anybody invest money into make this piece of crap? An hour and a half of my life wasted. Don't bother with this one. I mean it, for real. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A nonscencical and unintentionally laughable coming of age drama. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
