Critics Consensus

A moody, intriguingly offbeat debut with a timely premise and hypnotic atmosphere, Night Nurse ultimately proves more compelling as an eerie character study than a fully satisfying thriller.

Once you’ve seen one shot of this movie, you’ve practically seen them all, at least until things escalate during a rushed and unsatisfying third act Go to Full Review

The film is a mood piece, albeit a fascinating one. But in the era of AI-faked voices and persistent scammers, Night Nurse has a timely edge. Go to Full Review

It’s a gloriously deviant oddity, best suited to niche audiences drawn to atmosphere over plot, as Bernstein’s script achieves more as a woozy dreamspace than a neat crime story. Go to Full Review

I didn't love everything about this picture, which can get pretty repetitive, but Georgia Bernstein brings things home in fine style, her custom-fit cast rises to the increasingly-strange occasion...and it totally won me over by the end. Go to Full Review

Night Nurse is a well-made, good-looking film that suffers from a lack of narrative momentum in its last half and not quite enough eroticism or thrills Go to Full Review

Mr Hollywood Jul 15 Wasn’t expecting this. Nice surprises and takes turns I didn’t expect. A nice original film See more Allen Jul 15 Visually decent, just not a believable story… way too many plot holes to ignore. See more Javier C Jul 12 great acting. great camera work ensuring feelings, moods, and situations came across the screen. camerawork was very minimalist and realist. the plot was great once you found out what it was about. the beautiful nurse jumps up to my list of beautiful women with Keira Knightley and Anya Taylor joy. one of the best movies this year See more John Jul 11 Worst movie I've seen all year!!! Made no sense! Acting was terrible!!! Boring!!! See more Juandi Jul 11 This movie dragged & dragged. I kept looking at my phone throughout it. I think it could’ve worked better as a short film. There seems to be this new wave of minimalism and/or doing the bare minimum in movies in order to come off artistic. This had potential but fell short very early on. See more Brody R @Brody2525 Jul 17 Night Nurse was a misfire and a real disappointment. The premise alone is a million times more interesting than the movie we actually get. Instead, it’s basically an hour and a half of a young woman falling in love with an older man, with almost no tension or urgency whatsoever. The pacing is painfully slow, and for most of the runtime, it’s just so boring. Theres no suspense or tension. Night Nurse had me interested because of its exciting premise. Unfortunately, the execution never lives up to that idea, resulting in a slow and boring film. See more Read all reviews
