When Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn't commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem -- who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona's the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc -- for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to... just wreak serious havoc.

Christy Lemire Breakfast All Day I think it's the third act's a little weak, but I enjoyed it very much and has got a lot to say. Rated: 7.5/10 Feb 8, 2024 Full Review Alonso Duralde Breakfast All Day Its message is powerful but subtle, and I like the animation style a lot. Rated: 9/10 Feb 8, 2024 Full Review Heather Hogan Autostraddle Just as Stevenson somehow magicked Netflix into green-lighting She-Ra and the Princesses of Power's unmatched all-ages queer storytelling, he bamboozled them with Nimona too. This baby is gay. Jul 5, 2023 Full Review Rua Fay Cinemasters A great family movie and a reminder to never count out the little guy. Jul 21, 2025 Full Review Tom Spoors Loud and Clear Reviews Netflix’s Nimona manages to mostly overcome an arduous production history to deliver an incredibly entertaining and moving tale, whilst providing plenty of great LGBTQ+ representation. Rated: 4/5 Jan 7, 2025 Full Review Ben Turner The Pink Lens It has fight after battle after skirmish after fight, which is certainly exciting but feels somewhat formulaic. But then, what else could possibly happen in a futuristic medieval kingdom? Rated: 4/5 May 30, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Alec I liked the characters and actor performances. The plot and dialogue were below average and could have benefited from more time, even though there were five or six writers credited. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Henrik J The animation/art style wasn't great, felt too minimalistic, very plain. Plot wasn't terrible, characters were okay, if you want a movie for your kids to watch for a bit I'm sure it's great but if you're watching as an adult there a better animated movies out there, this movie failed to hold my attention. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/25 Full Review Berni P This film proves that you can successfully pack entertainment, powerful messages and respectful representation into one movie. All the main characters are likeable, have great chemistry, and are fun to watch. The dark moments work their way naturally into an otherwise lighthearted action comedy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review Carlos L Sensational!!! A masterpiece of animation, moving, adventure, action, friendship are topics of this film that made me think it is one of the best I have ever seen!!! Congratulations!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/09/25 Full Review Pluto S This was very good but but honestly could have been better. A lot of the plot points were good but underdevelloped. For exemple, the flashback for Nimona's backstory was fast and cut short i feel like. I would have liked more time with these characters, because at the climax of the movie when Nimona dies i didnt reallly feel any emotion, because of the lack of time with these people. The animation was good but not on the level of others like Spider verse and PB2. On the representation, i dont really have an opinion. Like its good that theres rep I guess but Ballister and Ambrosius are not giving there time together that much. I like the nacho seen tho. Should see the movie if you like things in the same vein. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review E- R This movie had some very stupid characters inside, but by goodness, it was absolutely heartwarming. This movie almost brought me to tears in the end. All I can say: Absolute Cinema. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Read all reviews
