russell t Slow first half but builds into one of the finest examples of Anime. The animation is great and by the end has a gripping story. The main let down is the whole she looks 11 but actually 211 Trope but if you can suspend that belief its a great watch . Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This undoubtedly has some problems, but ultimately it has just enough good bits that I like it. They do a bit of establishing scenes at the beginning without putting too much effort into any of the people except the main character and then Shubei, and then just almost exclusively focus on them and their goals. They managed to build a deep and interesting world and follow some deep concepts with nominally little effort and still retain some decent action. I am honestly wanting more, even if the "story in a story" is more interesting looking than the world where it's being told. Good movie, will definitely watch again eventually. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Very few movie have been able to make me cry, sad but so beautiful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The one time a character's death made me cry, this is a superb movie . I highly recommend it. David Hogan Anime UK News While it's a shame the original cast were merely extras in a framing story, the new story they did tell was good enough that I can forgive them for it... Rated: 8/10 Feb 17, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
