Joel H Terrible movie. There is close to nothing interesting in this movie, except the character of Marthe Villalonga (Mme Hazan), who would be funny in any movie. Nice sceneries of NY (although clearly most of it is filmed in Bushwick / Williamsburg). But the dialogues (I am French speaking - living in NY) are boring as hell, the plot non-existent. There seem to be issues of continuity, like the scene where they go in a jewish school and all of a sudden the 2 girls are locked together by the boys so they can patch things up. Comes completely out of the blue. Or the scene where a restaurant owner shows a picture of Denise with her father. These are scenes that come out of the blue, that seem like the director was planning to say something but they forgot what it was and left it alone. Seriously, do yourself a favor and do not watch this movie.
