      victor o I was checking what was on and I saw this lovely poster of a movie set in 3D, it looked interesting. I also saw the lovely Doutzen Kroes and was more than interested in watching. I had no idea what this was about but learned it was about a historical mission by the Dutch to find a path to sail via the north pole. I'm more used to action movies but every so often a good adventure movie can be about discovery. Whether it is traveling out West or exploring the stars, or in this case traveling the seas, adventure is an adventure. The premise is that a cartographer out to earn himself living and the heart of a gorgeous woman sets out to help the expedition of sailors to a land known as Nova Zembla. From here is the tale of an educated romantic forced to endure the uneducated but laborious working crew of veteran sailors as they set to work in the confined space of a ship. Discipline, hard work, and courage is something every man must uphold on this adventure. It looks like money and time were spent to make this look as good as any Hollywood blockbuster, not bad for a Dutch film studio. Not the most memorable of faces unless you count Doutzen Kroes'. Still, a good story, one that is both true and a grand adventure. They didn't take advantage of the scenery, the story is weak, the acting is 'meh' and it's never exciting at any point.
