Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com The director crafts a mostly patriotic picture of a man solely dedicated to duty. It’s an uncompromising approach that often makes for a stirring watch even through a narrow lens. Rated: 3/4 Jan 1, 2025 Full Review Jose Solís Common Sense Media Based on the real-life story of Norwegian hero Gunnar Sønsteby, director John Andreas Andersen delivers a gripping, often violent thriller that highlights the best and worst of humankind. Feb 12, 2025 Full Review Jana Monji Age of the Geek This biopic about Gunnar Sønsteby, the most highly decorated citizen in Norway, explores the moral grey areas during war under brutal invading forces. Switching between the past and the present, the film sensitively contrasts justice and necessity. Rated: 5/5 Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Hilary A White Irish Independent The sticky morals of this type of warfare are folded in, in a way that adds much substance to an otherwise middle-of-the-road espionage thriller. Rated: 4/5 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider As it presents the effort of one man to retain his value system and apply it to the greater good, it finds lots of ways to illustrate how the battle is always bigger, even if the people fighting it are not larger than life. Jan 11, 2025 Full Review Prairie Miller WBAI Radio Ventures into the past while inevitably and in this case incidentally reflecting on troubling moral alongside military implications - and no less so in the case of Norway's past and conflicted, simultaneous battle of soil and soul present moment in time. John T Not an action movie but an intense drama. Great plot, great acting, very well paced and not predictable. Refreshing to see a movie that has soul too it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/25 Full Review Rob r What a moving and touching film. Draws you in as the historic story is told first hand. English subtitles but well worth it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Audience Member absolutely excellent movie. It touch my heart... Though violent it shows what men & boys go through defending what is right, good & true. My Father jumped on DDAY and won the Bronze & Silver Star. Also jumped in Holland. Part of 82 Airborne! A very humble man who never talked that much of the war. So many men had to kill... & Hated it but loved their country! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Ruben L A really good crafted film that throwes your feelings in the mix with the cruel reality. A look on how some of the people had to suffer to get to the point where we are today. Overall one of the best movies I have ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review dude d this is a quiet film. A story from the norwegian resistance in WW2. i know i couldnt have done it.
