Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com It's just not very good. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 30, 2016 Full Review Scott Tobias Variety A hyper-aggressive and thoroughly repugnant piece of comic-book juvenalia. Nov 17, 2016 Full Review Mike D'Angelo AV Club Hyperactive yet feeble, Officer Downe has no real story and no point of view-just endless, assaultive testosterone. Rated: D Nov 16, 2016 Full Review Sarah Musnicky Legion of Leia at Vital Thrills There is really not much else going for this film aside from cheesy lines, poor acting, and spots of good humor here and there. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review Fred Topel Nerd Report This is what a Troma movie might be like with misogyny and entitlement in place of vision and actually having something to say. Nov 6, 2017 Full Review Courtney Howard Fresh Fiction Officer Downe is brought to us by clown #6 in Slipknot. Maybe films directed by clowns #1-5 are far less misogynist. We'll never know. Carlos I Oof! I mean, I don't want to hate, because I love the dude that directed this, but man... Repugnant is a pretty apt description of this one. It's just soo tryhard in its attempt to recreate the Grindhouse style, that the juvenile humor and effects just come across as cringeworthy... It's a shame really, as the comic book origin actually seems pretty cool. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/11/22 Full Review steve d Absolutely nothing works in this film. The film is so unpleasantly over the top, and its central character has no personality. The films attempts at humor are especially cringe worthy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Like RoboCop meets Judge Dredd with a touch of Sin City, garnished with some Evil Dead... like a comic book brought to life but with a low budget. The blood and fight scenes are great! Definitely CAMPY. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Super cheesey! It was fun, not your Avengers style comic book movie Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Stupid fun, certainly worth watching if you're into cheesy action Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member For Shawn "Clown" Crahan's first feature-length film, it definitely kept me entertained, even if it contains a predictable plot and one-dimensional characters. Although not an immediate recommendation, I look forward to Clown's future works. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
