Bruno S Ótima atmosfera e excelente suspense e algumas atuações realmente notáveis. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review DJ F Made it about 10 minutes in and gave up. I won't spoil it but if you make it further, let me know if it was 83 minutes well spent. Looks great, lead actress is convincing and the feel is spooky. But I can get that from a lot of movies that actually deliver much sooner. Slow burns I get, but don't have me waiting around and you, like the leading actress, are just wandering in the mist and woods like "anybody?" " are you here?" Not after I finish this review. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Eric S It seems like Michael Keating is trying to wear too many hats. He shouldn't be writing movies, but he can sure shoot the hell out of them. Watching this there's a great disconnect between the terrible, formulaic, and frustrating plot (even for a horror movie, I kept yelling "why are you doing this?" far too many times,) and the brilliantly atmospheric way it was shot. If it happens to come up on your "showing next" while streaming (this is how it got me), and you accidentally get into it, might as well see the end, but you know most of what is going to happen after one of the exposition dumps about halfway through (and you can guess well before that.) I can't recommend watching this when there are so many better things. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall, apart from an interesting yet basic mystery and some fun creative moments visually, Offseason is a massive disappointment as a horror film.  With a slow pace and characters just walking around having random moments for the vast majority of the runtime, the film fails to deliver any real impact or excitement.  Characters are unlikeable, and the dialogue feels unfitting and far too challenging to accept.  Plus, the character choices are poor and exhausting to watch.  In the end, I'm saddened to say I found this film unrewarding, unrealistic, painfully dull and forgettable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review sean s I think everyone was a little hard on this one. It wasn't that bad. Decent photography and acting. It is kind of ghost story/pact with the devil deal. Not great either though. The movie had a Carnival of Souls feel, but in color with some other stuff thrown in. It passed the time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review KEVIN C A couple travel to a seaside island town to fulfill the dying wish of her mother to not be buried there. I can see why, the weather is inclement, the residents are kooky and it's filled with ghosts. Unfortunately it's also mostly dull. I will say they nailed the tone and atmosphere, just the story didn't reel me in. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A small and occasionally strong thriller. It reminds me of an extended Twilight Zone episode. Mar 30, 2022 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Despite a wonderfully eerie atmosphere, this moody examination of guilt and mourning is too generic to scare and too predictable to surprise. Mar 10, 2022 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Chilling and unsettling, intimate yet monstrously vast in its cosmic horrors... Mar 10, 2022 Full Review Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street Offseason is ultimately more about mood than action. Viewers will no doubt feel the strain of Keating’s deliberate pacing and the frustration of his answering questions with even more questions. Rated: 8/10 Jul 23, 2023 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene The vibe is very Messiah of Evil with some Fulci feels mixed in, and it’s resonant in unexpected ways. It also gets at the very specific kinds of obstinacy that come from Floridian menace and the way the populace responds to it. Jul 14, 2022 Full Review Joel Fisher Battle Royale With Cheese Offseason may put audiences off if they can guess the ending in the first ten minutes, but at least it looks good enough so that you can focus on the visuals.
