Cheryl B This is my favorite Streisand movie and one of my favorite musicals. The tunes! The clothes! The wallpaper! It's whacky and wonderful! If you haven't seen it, you're missing out! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review rmt m Loved her 'dance' scene! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review roger a This is a gem. About an hour was removed from Director Vincent Minnelli's original cut due to the public falling out of favor with big musicals ( Streisand followed this one playing the foul mouthed fetish prostitute in THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT) and is presumably lost. Too bad... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Blobbo like movie. (Must take off 1/2 star for Montand's accent.) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Or "My Fair Dreary". This is one strange musical. A charmless Barbra Streisand - dressed in a succession of truly appalling outfits - barges her way into French shrink Yves Montand's office in order to wean herself off cigarettes. Instead she regresses into a 19th century England. On and on it goes, nothing happens - endlessly, and fatally there is zero chemistry between Streisand and Montand. When we reach the big title song Montand looks extremely uncomfortable. Bob Newhart and Jack Nicholson turn up in thankless roles, and it's very hard to believe this is the work of the great Vincente Minnelli. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the story, the costuming and the music. Streisand is incredible. Margaret Hinxman Daily Telegraph (UK) There are several good reasons why certain stars are paid astronomical sums for doing what comes naturally on the screen. And all of them apply to Barbra Streisand in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
