Todd McCarthy Variety Far more infatuated with its own cleverness than audiences are likely to be. Feb 2, 2007 Full Review James Greenberg The Hollywood Reporter Clever and moderately entertaining, film is a puzzle that will find some supporters as surely as it will sharply divide audiences. Jan 25, 2007 Full Review Eric D. Snider EricDSnider.com Acknowledging the fact that you're a tedious, self-indulgent storyteller doesn't excuse the fact that you're a tedious, self-indulgent storyteller. Rated: D Feb 27, 2007 Full Review Jamie Tipps Film Threat For those who enjoy the intellectualism, imagery and melancholy of works such as The Royal Tenenbaums or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, this is a film worth checking out. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 3, 2007 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Lask naver got fomral education but he's certainly movie savvy for his complex and convoluted debut borrows heavily from the recent cycle of postmodern metaphyical meta-narrative films of Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze, Kaufman, and even Marc Forster Rated: C+ Jan 31, 2007 Full Review Alex Billington FirstShowing.net Although I consider it to be one of the worst films of Sundance, others may find it just mystifying in its editing and completely rule-breaking structure. Audience Member By the end of this film, I understood what it was all about and it was a bit affective. For the most part of the first act of this film, though, one might feel like this is one of the worst ideas for a film. Not many people are going to really enjoy this one. It is more intillectual, but to a level that will bore most of it's viewers going into it, and in a way it is quite pretentious. I did really enjoy the second half of this one though, so I can mildly reccommend it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw the end of this movie at the AFI Fest a few years ago and it piqued my curiosity. It has some great moments and many not great moments. If you can stand the movie within a movie stuff, I think the relationship btwn Judas and Serra is really moving Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This is as good as movies get. Period. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member An author writes a book about his life, and the book gets turned into a movie, so a documentary film crew decides to document the story, by showing the movie, interviewing the cast, and the author. Completely and utterly bizarre in a "House of Leaves" kind of way, and has some of the most compelling pacing of any movie I've ever seen. I really did not want to watch it, but I couldn't get away. So consider this a warning: if you want some free time, don't let this be on the TV. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member A perfect film about nothing at all. I love films that have no story except for the interaction between flawed character and this movie doesn't disappoint. It's kind of confusing at first but once you figure out what you're watching you're hooked. Best film I've see in awhile. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting. Independent. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
