Typical, boring and repetitive. It’s basically the quintessential French movie and that’s not a good thing, also what we’ve come to expect from Lea as an actress. Would not recommend.

Young Parisian widow, with endearing child, has an affair with a married man while coping with her retired philosophy lecturer (he would be, its a French film) father's mental decline. A sensitive study if slow. But there is a feeling of having seen this study of Parisian bourgeois life many times before.

Lea Seydoux is sublime in this tender and moving tale of a young widow raising her daughter, helping her aging father and falling in love with a married man. Navigating through life’s complex emotions in a way only the French can do, this is understated and intoxicatingly sexy. Enjoy.

Strong performances. The film transports you to the simple pleasures, the basic desires, and the sorrowful events that make our ordinary lives painful and worth living at the same time. It's my favorite style of French film making: a close up lens on ordinary lives.
