Jacob B 01/25/2023 Just like all the great Pixar shorts, One Small Step tells a visually stunning, emotionally moving story within a brief runtime without saying a single word that goes from heartwarming to poignant to heartwarming again that spreads an effective message about learning to appreciate what you have. After all, it might be gone the next day. While I don't mind Bao winning the Best Animated Short Oscar over this one, since I really loved that short when I went to see Incredibles 2, I do think this had a decent chance of winning were it not for that other short's pesky Pixar branding clouding the Academy's judgement.
