Troubled Australian teen Alex (Elena Mandalis) finds solace in her friendship with Vicki (Dora Kaskanis), who comes from an even more dysfunctional and abusive family. While Alex is bookish and excels in her studies, Vicki reveals a tendency towards pyromania, with both inclinations playing a part in their increasingly close relationship, which verges on romance. However, when Alex witnesses a horrible and humiliating incident involving Vicki, it sets the stage for tragedy.
