Jason Bailey Flavorwire Fast-paced and energetic, and a brisk and eccentric snapshot of an era. Nov 17, 2016 Full Review Nick Roddick London Evening Standard Using still photos, modern-day talking heads and gorgeous re-enactments, the film is a jaw-dropping piece of social history. It's also a lot of fun, with some tears along the way. Did someone say 'trip'? Oct 25, 2016 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety A shadowy organization that kept the hippies dosed at the height of the '60s counterculture is brought to the light of day in this entertaining documentary. Oct 19, 2016 Full Review Andrea Thompson A Reel of One's Own [Orange Sunshine] makes for unbalanced viewing, but it also reflects and helps us better understand the time period it lovingly recreates, for better or worse. Rated: A- Feb 5, 2019 Full Review Derek Deskins Next Projection Kirkley doesn't necessarily want you to feel for his subjects but instead wants you to feel like you are one of them. It is that inclusivity that makes the emotional punches that are eventually unleashed land so resoundingly. Rated: 9.4/10 Oct 16, 2018 Full Review Peter Turner Starburst Orange Sunshine is a riveting documentary with an exciting, thought-provoking, tragic and hopeful story to tell. Sit back and enjoy the vibe. Rated: 8/10 Oct 25, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Loved it! I live in Laguna Beach and didn't realize the enormity of what they pulled off. Film tells the story well with all the details and real footage. It's a piece of history. You'll be entertained and educated at the same time. Highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Mike A I liked it and would recommend it but...it would have been nice to hear more history on the drug LSD itself. And there was almost no talk about "bad trips". Also, surely some of the people in their circle, or friends etc developed problems with addiction or mental illness etc? It was definitely a pro-drug movie which is great, but it wasn't totally balanced imo. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/12/16 Full Review Audience Member Must see for all. An important piece of history. Thanks William Kirkley for bringing this story to the masses. This Docu movie will sweep you away right from the start, and set you back down at the end.
