I really liked this movie and not just because I knew the story and the protagonists; I liked it because it was fun, well-made, and hit the target. Go to Full Review

When Bette Davis said old age is not for sissies, she likely had in mind the acting world as well. And this film is a marvelous tribute to that, a defiant romance on and off screen between these long term lovers with a passion for acting and each other. Go to Full Review

Meshing their sense of humor and style, Mariette is blunt but classy, and Jerry, a master of voices, timing, and genuineness, carries Our (Almost Completely True) Love Story through until its end. Go to Full Review

Michele C. H Jan 21 What a delightful, charming, and funny movie. See more Jan 6 We both loved this movie. We laughed constantly…that is a treasure in itself! It is brilliantly written, witty, intelligent, self deprecating. I didn’t want it to end. Acting was wonderful, every line believable. It’s filled with many actors from past movies and tv. It’s fun to recognize each as they come onto the screen. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed. I will add we are 2 baby boomers. See more Deborah W 12/08/2024 I’m 75, husband is 90 and we absolutely loved this movie. It was fun to see them play themselves, very authentic and charming. See more Lorrie T 09/25/2024 After determining that Mariette Hartley & Jerry Sroka wrote it, I give it a thumbs down. Why? I was enjoying the realism, the humor, and blossoming relationship. Why did they feel it necessary to include that scene at the play where her daughter is performing? So, let's get this right: the characters are father and son. Unbeknownst to the father, the son had a sex change operation, and is now having sex with his father. In what universe is that considered funny? I'm so sick of Hollywood desensitizing viewers to things that are abhorrent. I assumed that the director or producer must have pressured them into including this scene. Nope. I don't care if anyone thinks "I've got no sense of humor." That wasn't necessary. See more Mary L 08/31/2024 Great movie. The story was wonderful and the acting was superb. See more Rob M @robster_in_wailea 07/29/2024 This is a warm, thought-provoking love story about finding love later in life. The film features a great cast of well-known actors from the Seventies and Eighties and the script knowingly connects the issue of no-longer-in-demand older actors trying to find work with older people trying to find relevance, along with health issues (it hints at Mariette's failing memory and her gait hints at other physical aging issues). So good to see Tess Harper, Morgan Fairchild, and others playing themselves in real life. This is a sweet indie film. See more Read all reviews
