Taken all together, “Our Hero, Balthazar” is a button pusher that holds up a mirror to America and asks what is performative and what is real. It also dwells on how we can get out of this quicksand trap that young men are trapped in right now. Go to Full Review

It's surprisingly funny and humanistic, but also a dark satire about the America in which we live. Go to Full Review

A black-comic acid bath that, in only an hour and a half, nods to so many contemporary concerns that it rivals last year’s “Eddington” in its scope... The film may not propose a solution to any of our maladies, but it’s a bitterly convincing diagnosis. Go to Full Review

Oscar Boyson’s Our Hero, Balthazar is a razor-sharp, disturbingly hilarious Gen-Z satire that turns influencer brain rot and school shooting desensitization into one of the year’s funniest and most hauntingly human debuts. Go to Full Review

Our Hero, Balthazar is an intentionally disturbing satire of how gun violence, masculine identities, and social media posturing can intertwine and become a minefield of chaos. The movie's performances are riveting. Go to Full Review

Oliver 22h raunchy and dark and delightful See more Jessica H 6d This is such an intelligent movie. It's a searing look at how young people are affected by the attention economy and alienation of lives lived mostly online, and how breakdowns in our family bonds can spiral out to have ruinous consequences. The physical transformation of Asa Butterfield as Solomon is shocking - I had to check IMDB to make sure that was the same actor I know from his other projects. The acting, writing, directing and editing are all top-notch. Go see this movie. See more Amy Apr 5 Great film! Thought provoking , edgy, uncomfortable, confrontational, are words that come to mind while on this roller coaster ride with Jaeden and Asa. Definitely worth checking out! See more David Apr 5 Brilliant, hilarious and makes you think See more jesse v 1h an interesting concept about self integrity, loneliness and anger management. though the backstory baggage of the boy completely dissolves once the Texan dude story gets introduced. Autism is never explicitly explained but never taken into consideration. This movie clearly wants to tell about social issues but at this point of modern human history, unity and compassion is needed most. See more Estefany O @RT99421453 3d Unpredictable and funny the whole way while at the same time showing difficult and uncomfortable issues in today's world (that leaves you still thinking about it afterwards). The cast did an amazing job with their characters. It's a rollercoaster of emotions in a good way. See more Read all reviews
