Audience Member A good description of that period in HK. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member From acclaimed Hong Kong film director Ann HUI. Without much spoiler, acclaimed actor Tony LEUNG Ka-fai storytelling WWII Japan occupation of Hong Kong Chinese, acted by stellar cast ZHOU Xun, Eddie PENG, Wallace HUO, Deanie IP et al. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review camille l Parlant de la résistance hongkongaise face à l'envahisseur japonais en 1941, Our Time Will Come est un drame historique particuliÚrement bien ficelé, malgré une petite maladresse au niveau des scÚnes contemporaines avec Tony Leung Ka-Fai. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie without soul. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member It's very poetic way to show another view of that war, there are not many dramatic moments. It's so realistic, so painful, and make me feel so hopeful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Chinese neorealist mother-daughter version of those existential French resistance movies. Humor and pathos. Ignatiy Vishnevetsky AV Club An important figure in the Hong Kong film renaissance of the 1980s, [director Ann] Hui remains under-appreciated abroad. Like many of her films, Our Time Will Come requires and rewards patience. Dec 14, 2017 Full Review Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Like most of Hui's films, Our Time's subtlety is entrancing, withholding big dramatic moments to consider everyday behavior. This strategy speaks to Hui's tremendous gifts of directing actors and establishing a sense of place. Jul 13, 2017 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com A surprisingly affecting call to arms. Rated: 4/4 Jul 7, 2017 Full Review Andrew Heskins easternKicks.com Celebrated director Ann Hui returns to the Sino-Japanese war of The Golden Era with a star-studded cast...
