Clifford Terry Chicago Tribune With the actors tossing away their lines as if they're disposable razors -- Preston is particularly guilty -- the movie is so relentlessly awful, it seems like a send-up. Sep 22, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

kate t It's fairly slow to start and it feels more like a TV movie so my opinion is based on it not being for theatrical release (so my expectations were not as high). What I liked most about it was the way the script enabled the audience to get a better understanding of how our laws are often created and why. Also to better understand why and how so many guilty people seem to be set free.... not to mention the many innocent ones that aren't. Our justice system is a complex web of rules of created by mostly good people trying to solve complicated problems. Their solutions do not always merit justice, as many of us already know. Beau Bridges does a very good job as the defense lawyer. Burgess Meredith is also his usual scruffy good as a Judge. Very good watching on a lazy afternoon.
