Namrata Joshi Outlook Leaving you utterly dissatisfied... Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Extreme suspense, graphic violence; not for kids. Rated: 4/5 Dec 27, 2010 Full Review Todd McCarthy Variety A thinking-man's women-in-jeopardy picture, Panic Room does about as much as humanly possible with its deliberately restricted one-setting premise. Mar 27, 2009 Full Review Akos Peterbencze The Screen Though a bare-bones home invasion movie with a few memorable twists, a decent screenplay, and a solid cast, what still makes it outstanding in the genre is its gripping direction and meticulous focus that grants it another layer beyond the basics. Rated: C- Sep 17, 2022 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Led by strong performances top to bottom and a clear-eyed understanding of what it aims to be, “Panic Room” is a straight genre movie but with enough Fincher flourishes to give it an extra kick. Daichi K Thrilling, underrated Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Jelisije J A very entertaining thriller by David Fincher that deals with a home invasion movie where Jodie Foster and a young Kristen Stewart try to survive in a panic room from the would be robbers. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/24 Full Review Christian K So technically superb that it doesn't even matter that its plotting and characters are straightforward, the directing, writing, and performances carry this way over its baseline. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/24 Full Review Michael V It was supposed to be the safest room in the house. Panic Room is a 2002 American thriller film directed by David Fincher 🏠 Not bad, but not my favourite either 😉 It’s ok, but I feel mixed about this one 😉 I’d recommend it if you like this genre, but if not then probably give it a miss 👍🏼👎🏼 Trapped in their New York brownstone's panic room, a hidden chamber built as a sanctuary in the event of break-ins, newly divorced Meg Altman and her young daughter Sarah play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with three intruders - Burnham, Raoul and Junior - during a brutal home invasion. I saw it again and I realized that I still didn't like it. The plot is terrible and irrational. The panic room is used almost immediately. It's supposed to be a secret room but the whole movie is ridiculously centered around it with all of the characters hanging in or outside of it. The plot gets more stupid as it goes along, forget the ending. I kept feeling like this would have been a better movie if it was a domestic violence film or something. And the room really served as an escape. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Les M A thriller that is actually a true thriller. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
