Like many films that try to cram a lot of history into a minimal amount of time, this latest work from veteran filmmaker Noam Gonick could stand from a bit more breadth, but the stories contained within are ones that bear repeating and remembrance. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Babs T @baboonaiih 4 days ago This documentary provides an overview of the queer history of Canada and how the rights and freedoms we take for granted today were fought for. It's interesting for those with little knowledge on the subject and is an important reminder that Pride is just a parade it is a vehicle for direct action against the injustices enacted by our government and the enforcers of the status quo. Ending on the trans rights movement of our contemporary time is an important warning of our complacency and reminds us to get out there and fight like hell, but I feel like the film fails to fully highlight the divisions within the queer movement that led to this lack of justice for trans people we have today. Trans people have always been part of the queer community and often leading these movements and yet we know that many cis white male gay alliances were quite exclusionary to trans people. This could've been highlighted more to really send home the point of why we are in this current situation. See more Read all reviews
