Once it gets to the third act, it goes hard. It also has one of my favorite climaxes I’ve seen in a found footage film, as the action and horror become unrelenting. It knows what it wants to be and it delivers on the scares in the third act.

This movie didn't fit the standard for paranormal activity. The main character is annoying and makes very dumb decisions through the whole thing. It's almost like things happen because of her decisions as opposed to the proir movies where the demon was going to get to them no matter what. Definitely my least favorite of the franchise.

Maybe not as believable as the first Paranormal Activity, some of the acting isn't so great and some of the camera angles are obviously not filmed by them as they are meant to be in the film. Having said that I still found it gripping and very creepy as the other Paranormal Activity films are. I think the overall rating here seems unfair and well worth a watch if you're into the other movies in the franchise!

Don't believe the ignorant critics and armchair keyboard warriors, folks. This entry into the series is amazing! Best one yet! The right amount of suspense and scares, it peppers in bits of folklore and chills to give the franchise a whole new flavor. B+ and that's probably being conservative. A must watch for fans of the franchise and a definite "you gotta see it!" for horror fans. Now streaming on Paramount+.
