Linda Barnard Toronto Star Suresh John hits all the right comic notes as driver Sly while Ramsay nicely captures Jon's nave, fish-out-of-water confusion as he navigates the unfamiliar world. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 9, 2015 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times While the results are more creepy than charming - too childish for adults, though not necessarily too dark for children - it is hard to fault Mr. Goodwill for trying. Jun 4, 2015 Full Review Charles Bramesco The Dissolve Patch Town has just enough laughs, imagination, and sincerity to follow through on its naked bids for cult adoration. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 4, 2015 Full Review Indra Arriaga Anchorage Press The tension required for the story to succeed never reaches a height, it fizzles out. Patch Town has good ingredients but they never reach their sazn, leaving them unable to transcend beyond cabbage soup. Jun 20, 2017 Full Review Prairie Miller WBAI Radio Factory noir rears its head, when it comes to corporations, consumerism and the destructive pursuit of objects of materialistic desire. As the cabbage plant working stiffs in a different sort of scary movie, become the assembly line products themselves. Jul 9, 2015 Full Review Chris Knight National Post It's hard not to find something to love in a film that mixes elements of Toy Story, Bad Santa, Russian folklore, Cabbage Patch Kids and Les Miserables. Ari V So absurd (not in a good way), it gets unintentionally interesting for a few moments. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review joe m More in the children fantasy genre than what I thought would be a horror flick - and surprisingly very good. Has tones of Roald Dahl as done by Johnny Depp and that French director who did Amelia, etc - but its own originality. Strongly recommend. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Lighthearted, fun and unique. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A unique movie that I'm glad I stumbled upon. A musical love story that was quite enjoyable. Original premise and well acted. A little gem of a movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A strange movie that is equal parts Will Farrell comedy, musical, and flat out insanity. Easily could be suggested as a Christmas Movie if you were deranged. Still, watch this movie. It's too bizarre not to. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting tale based around urban folklore. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
