Empire Magazine Rated: 3/5 Dec 30, 2006 Full Review Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times Perfume de Violetas is very strong stuff, and Sistach has inspired such young actors as Ayala and Gutirrez to give sustained and harrowing portrayals. Rated: 4/5 Oct 28, 2004 Full Review Ella Taylor L.A. Weekly This powerfully rough slice of neo-realism, hitched to soapy melodrama, puts a heartbreakingly human face on the widespread problem of sexual assault in Mexico, especially as it applies to vulnerable kids of the inner city. Audience Member Realistic and compelling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A very decent film that shows the reality of many mexican teenagers and their problems. The film beggings when a girl called Jessica moves to a new school. There she meets Miriam, who in a matter of days becomes her best friend. These two share everything: make up, baths, music, laughs and class notes. However, the little tolerance of the adults and the enviroment of violence that surrounds Jessica breaks their friendship and leads them to a tragic ending. If you enjoy mexican films, or just want to watch something different, 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Impressive movie that gives no chance for anything. Deceptive, cruel and shocking. A must see.
