Ben Turner The Pink Lens 01/03/2023

A warm film with a lot of heart, Peridot is an entertaining but safe film that doesn’t quite find the truth within its ambitious subject matter. But it’s very pretty to look at! Go to Full Review
Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall 12/15/2022

The film is uneven, with some clunky plotting, dodgy technical issues and awkward performances. It's also strangely underpowered, circling around an idea that never quite comes into focus. Still, there's plenty of scruffy charm. Go to Full Review

10/14/2024 This movie was, for me, a true and unexpected gem. I wish that more films would have the courage to explore the inter-generational dynamics of a relationship not based on sex. Genuine, non-sexual intimacy can take so many forms and can be so cathartic. To the movie’s credit, it also did not avoid addressing the exploitation of youth by those with the means to do so. See more MIGUEL ANGEL Y 08/17/2024 A very intense film, which shows the harsh reality of life in Los Angeles and the wonderful friendship between Gabriel and Martha. I loved it to the point of crying like Gabriel did, for the departure of his unconditional friend Martha. Best regards, Miguel Angel Yopolo. See more Keith S 01/04/2024 This is a beautiful film that artfully explores love and loss....love found in the most unlikely of places. In merely an hour you are taken on a journey from gritty streets, sketchy situations...to the protagonist Gabriel dressed as Santa...a celebration on the beach...to an exploration of significant friendships. The magnitude of the final scene--in which Martha encourages and empowers Gabriel to write his story, is amplified by the reality that actor Harry Hains, like his character, tragically died of a drug overdose. Shayne Pax is gifted, young, and I look forward to see what he does next. See more Read all reviews
