Audience Member Not the best of the post-Raymond Burr stories, further weakened by the fact Barbara Hale only appears in it for a minute, but probably has more and better plot twists than just about any entry in this long-running movie series. In this outing, "Wild" Bill McKenzie goes to La La Land to defend his neice, a production assistant accused of murdering a Roseanne Bar-type TV diva. Meanwhile, lawyer/legman Ken Malansky, gets involved with a plucky tabloid photographer who has a mysterious connection to the case. All of these flicks follow roughly the same formula, just as the original Perry Mason TV series did, but hey, the formula works. For those who care, there were 30 Perry Mason television movies made between 1985 and 1995. Raymond Burr died in 1993, but they kept the series going for two more years by getting first Paul Sorvino (one film) and then Hal Holbrook (three films) to tap in for Burr as similarly colorful attorneys out for justice.
