You don't have to be nostaligic either, but I suspect that helps too. Valto and Reino, with their Estonian (the eponymous Tatiana) and Russian hitch hikers in tow, wend their way through a series of non adventures along the roads of Finland. An awkward romance blossoms (a la Kaurismaki) between the couples in spite of their lack of verbal communication, culminating in Reino and Tatjana... well, watch it yourself and find out what happens. Too many poignant moments to count, and some truly hilarious moments too. The story of two stereotypical Finnish guys who befriend a couple of stereotypical Russian women realizes its potential as a satire fairly well. The pacing of the storytelling seems a bit tired, but overall the movie works.
